    On the 19th of October GeorgeStorm and oliverw92 will be performing a talk on installing LAMP on Ubuntu in the Council Chambers.

    The computer used will be Wheatley, the LAN services PC. The talk will guide take you through the following sections:

    • Installing Ubuntu Server 10.04.3 LTS
    • Installing/Configuring Apache
    • Installing/Configuring MySQL
    • Running a DNS server (Bind9)
    • Running a DC++ Server (Verlihub)
    • Installing Monitoring services (Cacti)
    • General Security overview

    Would this be suitable for someone who has never personally installed a Linux Distro and only used it sparingly 5 years ago?

    This talk is for complete beginners, the entire session will be an interactive Q&A, there are no stupid questions you can ask.

    I have called off this talk, I do not feel that giving a talk whilst coughing a lung up every sentence would be of any use to anyone.

    Aww that sucks. Guess I'll just have to stay in bed all day now....

    I've had this cough that's been going around for about a month now. I wouldn't be doing any speaking anytime soon with it
