If the LSU committee could collect the names of the attendees and forward them to me that'd be great. Otherwise I don't mind monitoring this thread and collecting names myself.
I seriously think this would cause lots of problems. 10 people limit is quite a big deal and getting committee on it as well, results in like 5 slots remaining. And who says who is going and who isn't if there are more than 10 people? I am not saying this won't work, I just express my concerns.
That can be solved Team Fortress style, with a hat. Committee get a few places if they want them, the rest go into a hat and are drawed randomly
Everyone loves a LAN but since this is our first event we're keeping the number small. The venue has a potential to hold 50+ people but we're just being cautious. With regards to the seat allocation it's a difficult decision, but we'd like to offer an opportunity for as many LSUCS members to attend as Demon Gamers. Also to be taken into account are the 3 organisers and 5 seats for Leicester CompSoc. Since I've issued those seats I thought it'd be righteous to hand the remaining 12 seats to the 2 other organisers of the event for their friends. If however they do not use up all 12 remaining seats I will allocate both DMU and Loughborough more seats. Spectators are also welcome to come down and I'm considering organising a Friday night social prior to the LAN.
If more than 10 people wish to go then we'd put all the names into a hat. We'd pick 10 random people out of a hat and it would be up to those 10 to arrange transport between themselves. No lsucs funding could be provided as only 10 of 130+ members would be going.

Since you're setting up LAN32 a week after this LAN I'm wondering if anyone still be interested in attending this event from Loughborough?
There will be a great contrast between the two, that's for sure If you could get a list of LSUCS members who would like to go that'd be fantastic. In terms of travelling you could probably arrange for a minibus to deliver you to the venue and back which is what Demon Gamers do for each LSUCS LAN I've allocated a minimum of 10 seats to Loughborough which is the same as DMU so neither university is being prioritised over the other.
Colour me interested, however my only question relates to transport and costs. I imagine the more people we can gather, the cheaper it should be per person?
It'll cost either £50 for the transportation or £50 per journey (to and from the venue) if you're going to be booking a minibus. That's how much it costs for Demon Gamers to rent one for the LSUCS LAN so it should be the same on your end too. With regards to other costs: Entry fee is £5 We'll shortly be confirming the following: Free burger included with entry fee A discounted food + drink menu available throughout the event Sponsorship with companies for possible freebies including Monster
If I'm honest I think it will be up to members themselves to organise if they want to go to this - we'll be changing over committees soon so we don't really have much time to organise this as an official event, especially since we can't take many members.
That's understandable and again it's happening a week before LAN32 I just need a confirmation on who will be attending this from LSUCS by 20th February the latest. It'd be nice to get 6 LSUCS members down so they can form teams for the TF2 and CSS tournament *added interest list to the first post

Probably best if its all kept in there so he can track it and decide what to do in the more than 10 situation to make it fair =)
