We'll be having the social at Riley's Pool, Snooker and Poker Club next week. We'll probably just be playing pool, and they have big american style pool tables, so don't be put off if you're worried about being rubbish, it's very easy ☺☺ In case anyone isn't sure how to get there or just doesn't want to walk alone, we'll be meeting outside JC's at 8pm and heading off to Riley's at 8:10pm sharp. If you're making your own way there and haven't been before:

We're going to be making our first bash at recording a podcast.
We'll be meeting in room 1B in the pilkington library on campus.
Mostly we'll probably be just fiddling around with audio software and testing things out, but hopefully we can put together a taster of what's to come.
Anyone is welcome to come along, especially if you know anything about recording/editing/making sound.
If you want to come, it would be very helpful if you could bring a microphone/headset for yourself. And if you know anything about or want to try out any specific audio software, then bring your laptop.
OK, we've pushed the LSUCS theme live for everybody now.
There are still a few minor things that need to be styled like the user control panel and pm system, but all the important stuff is done.
If you find any rendering bugs or browser inconsistencies please take a screenshot and create a post in the bugs section of the forums detailing it. Also, be aware, images will be scaled to fit into the site, so if your screenshot is large, provide a link to the full size image.
Non-technical feedback is also now welcome, just don't be too harsh, I've worked hard on making the site pretty :)
Now that the design is almost finished, we're going to start adding extra content and functionality. Once the styling is completely done we'll be adding the 'about' and 'contact' pages. Next will be a little surprise javascript feature I'll be adding, and then we'll start working on testing and ironing out the kinks in the blog and books system.
That means that everyone will be allowed to have their own blog where they can post whatever they want (within reason :P) and the 'books' feature should allow people to collaborate together to create articles and collections of pages, and this will take the place of the old wiki. A nice side-effect of using the in-built blog and books features is if anyone makes a really good article, we can promote it to the front page of the site and include it in the main feed :)
LAN 24 will be our final LAN of the year, just before the exam period hits and we finish for the summer.
As usual the LAN will take place in James France, which is being renovated, so we are expecting to hit a full 80+ capacity this time!
Tickets are £10 for LSUCS members, and £15 for non-members.
Tournament prizes are being provided by SteelSeries, Crucial and Aria - http://lsucs.org.uk/lan24steelseriesprizes , http://lsucs.org.uk/lan24crucialsponsorship , http://lsucs.org.uk/lan24ariasponsorship
We'll have a 32-man Battlefield: Bad Company 2 server provided by Rackage - http://lsucs.org.uk/lan24rackage
We'll also be running local Counter Strike: Source and Left 4 Dead 2 servers, and organising various other games.
There'll be console gaming on the projector, a quiz and a super-huge pizza order.
